Ramzan Sugar Mills manager offloaded from plane, taken into FIA custody

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) offloaded the manager of Ramzan sugar mills Muhammad Mushtaq and took him into custody from Lahore airport, on Monday.
The FIA sources said that Muhammad Mushtaq, who was set to depart for Dubai from Lahore via Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, was offloaded as his name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
His name was placed on ECL on National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s request, sources further said. He will be handed over to NAB for further investigation.
Mushtaq is accused of making Rs70 million transactions in Salman Shahebaz’s account.
However, the Sharif family members have denied the reports of Muhammad Mustaq’s any affiliations with the Ramzan sugar mills.
The Sharif family spokesperson said, “Muhammad Mushtaq was never a manager of any of the family’s sugar mills. Mushtaq was never even an employ of the Sharif family.”
“Sharif family’s media trial is an ill-intentioned and regrettable step. The purpose of issuing such one-sided statements without any investigation is character assassination,” the spokesperson added.
The Ramzan Sugar Mills case is currently under trial in the accountability court against Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz and other accused for allegedly misusing their powers for the construction of a drain in Chiniot district, to benefit the sugar mills owned by the family.
