Hamza Shahbaz arrives at LHC seeking bail
A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) is expected to hear Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Hamza Shahbaz's bail petition at noon today.
A nearly five-hour standoff at the Shahbaz family's Model Town residence on Saturday between a NAB team seeking Hamza's arrest and his private security, as well as PML-N supporters, ended after the LHC restrained the bureau from arresting the MPA and granted him protective bail till Monday.
Hamza Shahbaz will be represented in court today by Advocate Amjad Pervez.
PML-N workers at the Lahore High Court, armed with banners, chanted slogans in Hamza's favour until they were warned by security that they would be expelled from the premises if they did not show respect for the court. They continued a silent show of support for their leader thereafter.
